Making new FRIENDS
We recently had some very special visitors to the classroom, who taught us some fun facts about the fictional characters we created for the book. As we begin to flesh out the details of our story, we want to be sure we are accurately portraying the habits and habitats of our new friends. So when the ladies from Friends of the Environment came into the classroom last Friday, they had lots to share on the subject and we had lots to learn! (Unfortunately, all of the pictures I took during their presentation are either too dark or too blurry to share- but they’ll be back!) As we dive into our storyline, we’ll be calling on FRIENDS for their expertise once again to share important facts on plastic pollution.
An extra special thanks to Ms. Lianna and Ms. Lyndeisha, for all of the valuable information they shared in their presentation. They made it fun and interactive and the students were engaged, asking curious questions that will help to shape their characters’ personalities. Take a peek at what we’ve learned so far, and follow along as we dive into the next phase of story development! And just in case you missed last week’s post, the characters you see here are just digital representations of how we imagine our characters will look; The students, with the help of Ms. Cindy (yes, this Ms. Cindy) will be illustrating the book! Take a peek at our story board came together and meet our main characters!
