Pivoting towards a new goal
A couple of weeks ago during class, the 5th & 6th graders were having a robust discussion about what topic we should blog about next. Lots of great ideas were kicked around, but we landed on something that we all decided deserves much more attention than just one singular blog post: The importance of reducing our plastic consumption and the impact it has on our environment.
And so, we’ve decided to tackle this important topic in a more lasting and meaningful way— by writing a book about, it and blogging about the whole experience!! From story planning to publishing to printing and beyond, we’ll take you along with us as we dive into the magical underworld of the Hope Town Harbour. Next week, we have some very special guests from Friends of the Environment coming in to the classroom to share some valuable information, education, resources and tips that we’ll be incorporating into our story. We can’t wait to share more, but for now, meet the new neighbors in the Hope Town Harbour! Please keep in mind this is not the actual artwork for the book, but rather a digital representation of our main characters, as decided upon and named by the students. We can’t wait to see what great things this bunch is capable of and share them with you!
